OBEYING THE HOURS OF OPERATION RULES AT YOUR COMPLEX

The hours of operation rules are put into place for a reason and almost all rental amenities will have hours that you can use them. For example, your swimming pool may be open from 7am to 7pm while your gym may be open from 6am to 10pm. Even things like the laundry and, in some instances, the underground parking lot will come with hours of operation.

Most landlords are pretty fair when it comes to the hours of operation and the hours will be extended for everyone to use them. For example, most pools will be open for longer than just 9am to 5pm as this is the time that most people work and not be able to use the facility. However, it makes sense that the property manager will not want people swimming around at 2am or using the loud facilities at the gym at midnight when people are trying to sleep.

If you are unhappy with the hours of operation in your complex then you can talk to your property manager about it. However, asking him nicely is pretty much all you can do. What he wants to do will be the final decision. Deciding to sneak into the gym at 10pm when it is closed is not a good idea as, if you are caught, which you most likely will be, then you could face eviction as well as the risk of a trespassing violation.

One of the annoying things of having hours of operation in place is that you might find that when you want to use the facilities, so does everyone else. This is especially the case for the condo childcare centers and laundry facilities as well as the gym. On the weekends, the laundry facilities are properly quite jam packed and you may not be able to find an empty washing machine when you need it. You can try to find a time during the week to do your laundry, after work. You might have to stay up a little later but you also have your weekends free and are not fighting with the other tenants to get your clothes washed and dried before work starts again.

Common Rental Facility Hours

As mentioned above, most gyms will be open early and stay open late, for example, from 5am to 10pm. The gym is also going to get quite jam packed during some of the peak hour times. Between the times of 6am and 8am and 6pm and 8pm are the most popular times for people to hit the gym, either before work or after work. If you can, try to avoid these times as it might be hard to find a machine if the gym is quite small.

Swimming pools can also get quite busy on the weekends, especially during the hotter months. If you want to lounge by the pool and dip in once and a while then sharing the space with others shouldn't be a problem. However, if you are looking to swim laps then having children jumping over top of you can get annoying. Try to use the pool as soon as it opens in the morning before the kids in your complex wake up and convince Mom and Dad to go for a swim. Most pools open around 7am and may close when it gets dark around 7pm.

Obeying the hours of operation rules at your complex and anywhere else is all a part of life. You do not break into the shops at 9pm because you want a coat. So why expect to do the same in your rental complex?
