PLAYING IN A SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Soccer tournaments are organized for players of all ages and calibers. Whether you are 15 or 55, whether you are male or female, whether you have been playing for 30 years or 30 days, you will love the competitiveness and the cooperativeness that soccer tournaments can bring. Make sure you are prepared for a weekend of sports by packing the necessary items and preparing mentally and physically for a weekend you will never forget.

One of the best things about playing in a soccer tournament is that you often have to travel to get there. What this means is that you and your team mates will be joined at the hip for the weekend. If you have families and children then you may want to also bring them along. You may decide to all stay in a hotel or a campervan park depending on your budget. You can expect a lot of fun on the field but even more fun off the field during your down time.

Make sure you have packed enough clothing to wear on and off the field. You can expect your uniform to get quite sweaty, dirty and wet after each game. Pack several pairs of socks as you will need to change them after each game and, if you can, bring more than one uniform as well. Furthermore, make sure you pack plenty of warm up gear as well as rain gear just in case. Furthermore, bring lots of sun screen as if you are playing during the summer time, then the heat can be quite intense.

Another thing you need to do when playing in a soccer tournament with a team is organize. It is a good idea to have one or two people on the team as the captains or coaches if you do not already have a separate coach. Letting your team try to organize themselves can become a problem, especially if there are several people that want to play the same position. Designate one person to be in charge of the line ups, the substitutes, the equipment and the warm up and cool down exercises.

Successful Soccer Tournament Tips

Playing in a soccer tournament can be quite competitive and you may feel like you have to win. Keep in mind that winning isn't everything. Most tournaments will have some sort of prize, either a cash prize or a trophy of some sort for the winning team. However, don't get frustrated with your team if you happen to loose or if someone makes a silly error.

When you are not playing soccer then you will probably want to relax and get something to eat. Furthermore, many soccer tournaments also have beer gardens where the teams can all enjoy a fresh cold beer after the game. Make sure you are not just living off beer during the weekend or you can expect to not only feel weak in the games the next day but also devastatingly hung-over. This can make for horrible soccer playing.

Another thing to remember when it comes to playing in a soccer tournament is that it can get quite hot out, especially if your games are scheduled for the afternoon when the sun is the most intense. Make sure you have plenty of substitutes and that you have lots of water. Rotate all your team members and take water breaks when you need it. If you are playing two or three games a day for two or three days in a row, you are bound to be quite exhausted at the end. Make sure you are protecting your body by staying hydrated.
